Additional vaccines provided free in NSW for GP immunisation provider use

The following table indicates vaccines for the catch up vaccination of refugees, children in the appropriate age group who missed out on vaccinaton at school due to illness or absence and other individuals.

Vaccine

Eligibility

Boostrix (dTpa)

Children in Year 7 and Year 10 only who missed out on vaccination at school (order via Public Health Unit)

Hepatitis B

  • Catch up of children less than 7 years of age
  • Missed dose at school (students currently in Year 7 only)
  • Aboriginal people
  • Household and sexual contacts of acute and chronic hepatitis B cases
  • Immunosuppressed people
  • People with HIV or hepatitis C
  • Men who have sex with men
  • Refugees
  • Injecting drug users
  • Clients of sexual health clinics

–   Not for overseas travel

Human papillomavirus (HPV)

Female students in Year 7 only who missed out on vaccination at school (order via Public Health Unit)

Meningococcal C

Unvaccinated persons under 28 years of age

MMR

Unvaccinated individuals born in or after 1966

Rotateq

Infants who commenced rotavirus vaccination with Rotateq in another state or territory and need to complete that schedule (order via Public Health Unit)
