New South Wales Population Health Survey

Accessing datasets

There is a wealth of information in the population health survey that may be of specific interest. For this reason, the NSW Ministry of Health encourages further analysis and reporting of survey datasets.

For analysis and reporting at the local health district level, data can be accessed through the Health Outcomes Information Statistical Toolkit (HOIST). For staff of a local health district who do not have access to HOIST, datasets are available through specific requests to the Chief Health Officer.

For analysis and reporting beyond the local health district level, at the statewide level, or by staff not employed by a local health district, a data request must be lodged with the Chief Health Officer.

Any publication that analyses and reports survey data beyond the local health district level must be approved by the Centre for Epidemiology and Research. The Centre must receive a draft of any publication at least one month before approval is required.
