NSW Health System Performance Indicators
SummaryPerformance measures are important for monitoring accountability and service improvement. This report provides a brief overview of developments in health system performance indicators and outlines a framework demonstrating linkages between local and state indicators and the strategic objectives of the NSW Health system. A health dashboard set of indicators is proposed for use by NSW central agencies of government, NSW Department of Health, health service boards, chief executive officers, health clinicians and support staff. The indicator set will form the basis of future performance agreements between NSW Treasury, NSW Department of Health and Health Services and inform other NSW state national health related agreements.
