NSW Health Interim Influenza Pandemic Action Plan

Summary

The NSW Health Interim Influenza Pandemic Action Plan is designed as a framework by which NSW Health should operate through the different phases of a pandemic. It is designed to mesh with the Australian Management Plan for Pandemic Influenza as well as with the NSW HEALTHPLAN framework. The Plan provides:

- a description of the national, state and local structural arrangements for coping with a pandemic
- a description of the key elements of preparedness and response, including the principles of command, communications, surveillance, infection control, diagnostics, vaccination, case containment, health care infrastructure and workforces issues, and
- details of roles and responsibilities required in each phase of a pandemic.
