NSW Schools Physical Activity and Nutrition Survey (SPANS) 2004 Short Report
SummaryAlmost 5500 students aged 5 to 16 years were surveyed in 2004 as part of the NSW Schools Physical Activity and Nutrition Survey (SPANS). This is the short report (an easy to read version mainly for teachers, parents and young people), which provides a brief description of the methods of the study and key results of the survey including: current data and trends on the prevalence of overweight and obesity, levels of physical activity, modes of travel to and from school, fundamental movement skills, sedentary behaviours, eating behaviours, and markers for chronic disease.
