Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) for people with mental illness
SummaryPeople with mental health problems and disorders can experience difficulties in accessing affordable, safe and stable housing. Illness can disrupt tenancies and the ability of an individual to maintain their housing. A significant proportion of homeless people and people living in sub-standard or marginal housing have a mental illness. Social housing linked to support plays an important role in assisting people on low-incomes with a mental illness to live successfully in the community. The Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) is a partnership program funded by the New South Wales (NSW) Government that ensures stable housing linked to specialist support for people with mental illness.
