Evaluation of the NSW Interagency Guidelines for Child Protection Intervention 2006 (Part 1 - Final Report)

Summary

In 2008 the Child Protection Senior Officers Group oversaw an evaluation of the NSW Interagency Guidelines for Child Protection Intervention 2006. The evaluation sought to examine the take up and overall effectiveness of the Guidelines. Staff from both government and non-government agencies participated in a comprehensive evaluation process.

The final report of the evaluation has been endorsed by the Justice and Human Services CEOs Forum and was provided to the Special Commission of Inquiry into Child Protection Services in NSW to inform their deliberations.

Recommendations from the evaluation are now being considered in the context of the Government's recent response to the Inquiry, "Keep Them Safe: a shared approach to child wellbeing".
