Public Oral Health Directions 2008
Summary
NSW has a long history in the promotion of oral health. Recent State and Federal Government plans and strategies have set a vision for NSW and Australia, which includes setting priorities for improving access to oral health services and programs and improving oral health outcomes for communities. The Centre for Oral Health Strategy (COHS) NSW has an important role to play in the promotion of oral health and in ensuring equity in access to oral health services and programs. We hope that this publication articulates the role of COHS in monitoring State oral health outcomes and issues, contributing to the development of an appropriate oral health workforce, promoting evidence-based prevention and early intervention and health promotion programs and creating sustainable partnerships across all sectors underscores the COHS commitment to a population health approach to oral health in NSW.
