Family Referral Services - Workshop Report

Summary

NSW Health and the NSW Council of Social Services co-hosted a workshop of NGO peak groups on 5 June 2009 to assist in planning for the Regional Intake & Referral Services (RIRS). This is a key initiative under the Keep Them Safe, A shared approach to child wellbeing 2009-2014.

The stated objectives of the workshop in the agenda were to:

A. Provide background information on the RIRS proposal and a proposed way forward.

B. Seek ideas on how tho make the most of this opportunity to enhance access to services for vulnerable children and their families.

C. Seek commitment to an ongoing partnership between government and non-government agencies in delivering this service.

The outcomes of the workshop are the subject of this Report including the guiding principles and intended outcomes identified for the RIRS.
