Policies & Guidelines

Medication Handling
The policy directive: Medication Handling in NSW Public Hospitals outlines the legislative requirements associated with medication management.  The policy also includes information about the safe use of medication.

Methotrexate
Methotrexate is a high risk medication that may have severe side effects if used in an inappropriate way.  To help clinicians provide treatment with methotrexate safely, the policy directive Methotrexate - Safe use of Oral Methotrexate is in place.

National Inpatient Medication Chart
The National Inpatient Medication Chart (NIMC) is an important tool for enhancing the safe use of medicines.  It is NSW Department of Health policy that all NSW Health inpatient facilities must have this chart implemented.
