Public Health Bill 2010 Consultation Paper

Summary

In 2005 the Department of Health undertook a Review of the Public Health Act 1991 ("Review"). The Review received over 90 submissions and made over 40 recommendations in respect of the Public Health Act 1991. Following consideration of the recommendations made in the Review, and developments that have occurred in the field of public health since 2005, the Department has prepared a Public Consultation Draft of the Public Health Bill 2010 ("Draft Bill") and this Consultation Paper ("Paper").

Submissions on the Draft Bill and Consultation Paper will be accepted until 19 April 2010.
