The Judith Meppem Nursing and Midwifery Scholarships

Summary

Ms Judith Meppem was the first Chief Nursing Officer in New South Wales and held this role from 1990 to 2002. Having had a long and distinguished career as a nurse she understood the importance of ongoing learning for the nursing and midwifery professions. As the Chief Nurse, Judith championed the need for NSW Health to provide learning opportunities for our nurses and midwives. The Judith Meppem Scholarships are about providing nurses and midwives with an opportunity to observe and learn about innovative and best practice in nursing and or midwifery. The study tour can be applied to all areas of nursing and midwifery practice including clinical, education and management.
