Position title: COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Vaccinator

Report to: Stage 3 Manager

Mission

To administer vaccine to suitably screened and consenting individuals, according to vaccine administration protocol Initial actions

  • Check in to clinic venue
  • Ensure photo ID is clearly visible
  • Introduce self to all staff assigned to team
  • Alert supervisor if unable to perform any of the duties on the job action sheet, clarifying any issues of concern with supervisor
  • Familiarise self with the work station and resources including:
    • Physical layout of work space (eg: emergency exits, toilets)
    • Flow of vaccine to administration stations
    • E-recording of vaccine administration
    • Emergency procedures

Specific job actions

  • Familiarise self with all clinic electronic forms, vaccine administration protocols, vaccines, and follow-up information to be given to clients
  • Check emergency equipment, ensuring that adrenaline and adrenaline protocol (laminated) is at hand
  • Store a small amount of drawn-up vaccine on work table, protected from light,
  • Administer vaccine per NHMRC recommendations, but with client standing
    • Seat any client if required to maintain safety instructing parent on how to safely hold children
  • Certify that vaccine has been administered in the electronic record
  • Notify runner in a timely manner when re-supply of resources is needed (vaccine or dry goods)
  • Record on job action sheet, any problems, expected or unanticipated, and how these were resolved
  • Attend team meetings as directed by supervisor
  • Give Stage 3 Manager feedback about what is working well and what is not working
