NSW Health Pathology is part of the international response to COVID-19.
Dedicated public pathology testing laboratories are working together to provide timely, accurate, reliable and safe COVID-19 testing for the people of NSW.

Together, these laboratories can run more than 5000 tests per day. All 60 NSW Health Pathology laboratories across NSW are able to receive COVID-19 test samples collected from patients at public hospital emergency departments and COVID-19 fever clinics.
Once received, these urgent samples are couriered via road or air to one of NSW Health Pathology’s dedicated COVID-19 testing laboratories in line with usual urgent testing procedures.
Private pathology providers are carrying out sample collection and diagnostic testing for requests from General Practitioners (GP) in the community.
