This factsheet provides COVID-safe information for maritime provedores when interacting with international crew.

Last updated: 14 October 2021

Always check in via the Service NSW App or provide your contact details at the port.

Do not board the vessel at any time.

Keep at least 1.5m away from all international crew.

If you need to be within 1.5m of crew, you must wear the following personal protective equipment (PPE):

  • A disposable surgical mask worn over your nose and mouth
  • Eye protection
  • A long-sleeved disposable gown.

Minimise time with the crew to complete your essential tasks.

Masks should be worn at all times when in the port, not just when working with international crew.

Clean your hands regularly with soap and water, or use alcohol-based hand sanitiser, including before putting on and after taking off your PPE.

Avoid using cash and paperwork where possible. If you must exchange paperwork and/or cash, it must be done inside a plastic bag and must be wiped down with disinfectant wipes before handling.

If you develop any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild, please get tested immediately and self-isolate until you receive a negative result.

To protect yourself, your loved ones and the community, it is strongly recommended that you get vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination is free and can be booked through the Australian Government Vaccine Clinic Finder.

Please talk to your doctor if you have any questions.
