September 2022 edition

A smile, a hello, a please or thank you, are those small acts of kindness that make a big difference to the experiences of our staff, our patients and their families and carers, across NSW.

NSW Health’s Gathering of Kindness is celebrated annually during November, using World Kindness Day to continue a conversation about kindness and compassion.

NSW Health has a strong and proud history of providing safe and kind care to patients, families, carers and volunteers. Help us continue to build and nurture a culture of kindness across NSW Health.

The 2022 Gathering of Kindness, held on 7 - 13 November and will be our biggest and best event to date.

The Division of Patient Experience and System Performance is thrilled to have partnered with Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and the Hush Foundation, to deliver a hybrid event, offering in-person and virtual sessions focusing on Creativity, Change, Collaboration, Courage, and Contemplation

Gathering of kindness -connections 2022 – November 7-11 2022

There are five ways you can gather, be inspired, and reconnect for the Gathering of Kindness.

In person

In partnership with the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, you’re invited to join a like-minded tribe at the beautiful Shellharbour Civic Centre on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 November 2022.

Patients, families, carers and staff will join thought leaders and industry experts to share their stories and expertise in panel discussions, keynotes and conversations about kindness in action. There will be an opportunity to network with your tribe and participate in music, art, and quiet reflection.

Join NSW Health Secretary, Susan Pearce, ISLHD Chief Executive Margot Mains, Associate Professor Chris Milross, Amani Haydar, Penny and Al Graham, Professor Brendan McCormack, Dr Maria Mackay, and many more.
Register now not to miss out.

Online

We invite you to join in a curated series of online events to thank, teach, and inspire those in healthcare, connecting minds and hearts. You will be immersed in new ideas and innovation, reinforcing best practice and introducing new information.

Join Rick Evans, Chief Experience Officer at New York Presbyterian Hospital; Mandy Hose and Kate Jones from Too Peas in a Podcast; and Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM, doctor, scientist, lawyer, and disability advocate.
