December 2022 edition

NSW Health staff recently celebrated the 24th Annual NSW Health Awards. The Awards were an opportunity to reflect on the incredible work happening right across the health system.

Congratulations to all of the nominees, finalists and winners across all of the award categories. A special congratulations to the winner of the Secretary’s Integrated Value Based Care Award:  Sustaining and embedding the NSW Statewide Telestroke Service as part of a Supra Local Health District, hosted at Prince of Wales Hospital, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

The Secretary’s Integrated Value Based Care Award recognises initiatives that support NSW Health’s vision for a sustainable health system that delivers outcomes that matter to patients, is personalised, invests in wellness and is digitally enabled through integration of value based healthcare principles.

This year’s winner was Sustaining and embedding the NSW Statewide Telestroke Service as part of a Supra Local Health District, hosted at Prince of Wales Hospital, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

The NSW Telestroke Service is a statewide 24/7 hyper-acute stroke service providing time critical care to patients of regional and remote NSW. The aim of the service is to save lives and reduce disability from stroke.

The virtual service is hosted by Prince of Wales Hospital and is delivered at 23 sites across regional NSW. It was implemented in collaboration between the NSW Ministry of Health, South East Sydney Local Health District, the Agency for Clinical Innovation, and eHealth.
