Asset Management Branch is responsible for direction setting, policy development and assurance in the broader context of NSW Health asset management.

NSW Health owns or leases assets to support the delivery of high quality and safe patient care. Health assets include property, plant and equipment, fleet and ICT assets. Asset Management works to ensure that health assets and facilities are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.

Asset Management minimises the cost of asset ownership over the asset life cycle, balancing appropriate levels of asset risk, availability and use, by:

  • establishing an integrated asset management framework appropriate to health’s requirements
  • supporting enhanced asset management capability
  • developing evidence-based decision making processes underpinned by data and analytics
  • tracking performance against targets aligned with critical success factors
  • developing asset management environmental sustainability initiatives
  • providing advice on real property matters and managing disposal of surplus property assets.
