In August 2015 the Chief Health Officer's Air Pollution Expert Advisory Committee (EAC) expanded to allow for the provision of advice to the Chief Health Officer on a wider array of potential environmental risks to public health.

The revised format of the EAC - the Environmental Health Expert Advisory Panel (EHEAP) held their inaugural meeting on the 8th of August 2015.

This panel continues to provide expert advice on the current scientific evidence relating to air pollution as well as other environmental issues and public health, which complements the ongoing policy and research work already undertaken by the Department.
