Chris Oberle
Northern Sydney Local Health District
Chris has been volunteering at Royal North Shore Hospital for 10 years and in that time has made a significant difference to patients, carers, families, staff and projects. Chris demonstrates every day that her priority is patients. Even on the busiest day, Chris is able to connect with empathy and make a difference.
Chris provides feeding support to patients who are unable to feed themselves, ensuring they gain the support and time to progress their oral feeding skills and enhance their nutrition. Chris promotes volunteering and supports other volunteers.
Jan Bell
Sydney Local Health District
Trained as a Nurse at Concord Hospital in the 1960's, Jan Bell became a volunteer after retiring in 1998 and has continued to dedicate her life to Concord, volunteering four days a week for the last 20 years.
Jan exemplifies the essence of volunteering, immersing herself totally in the service of others. She is the 'go to' person with her amazing knowledge on the history of the hospital and has served as an important resource for new hospital recruits.
