Maintaining your healthdirect Service Finder listing – for pharmacists and pharmacy owners

Update October 2025

The Ministry of Health Pharmacy Connections team will contact all community pharmacies in NSW by email and phone in coming weeks to offer support in maintaining Service Finder listings. To contact the project team email MOH-PharmacyConnections@health.nsw.gov.au

Having a centralised source of information about expanded scope service availability is an essential part of promoting consumer access to new community pharmacy care options.

It is a legal requirement of the Class Authorities for all expanded scope services that pharmacists ensure the pharmacy they are working from maintains an up-to-date service listing via healthdirect.

Creating and maintaining your service listing on healthdirect

Pharmacies who provide expanded scope services are responsible for maintaining their own up-to-date service listings via the National Health Services Directory (NHSD).

First, check the healthdirect Service Finder to see if your pharmacy has already been listed with the NHSD.

If you have an existing listing, you can update this by clicking 'suggest an edit' and completing the service update form as required. Please select 'Service offerings (pharmacies only)' on the form to update any offerings available at your pharmacy.

For a detailed step-by-step guide, see Registering and updating your pharmacy in the Healthdirect Service Finder.

The following offering terms should be selected for each service:*

Expanded scope service Service finder search term
Hormonal contraception continuation 'Oral contraceptive pill resupply service'
Urinary tract infection (UTI) management'Urinary tract infection treatment service'
Dermatology (includes atopic dermatitis, herpes zoster, impetigo and mild plaque psoriasis)

'Skin disorder treatment service'

You should also specify in your pharmacy listing:

  • when these services are available
  • if patients should call ahead or book their consultation online
  • an indication of consultation fees

This information can be entered in the 'additional information' section of your listing.

If you do not have an existing listing, please follow the prompts on the healthdirect website to register an organisation, and nominate your intended service offerings.

For further information about updating your healthdirect Service Finder listing, please contact the NHSD team at nhsd@healthdirect.org.au.
