COVID-19 testing in NSW

A COVID-19 test is free for everyone in NSW, regardless of your visa status.

The only way to know if you have COVID-19 is by getting a COVID-19 test (nose and throat swab). If you feel sick or have any symptoms, you must get a COVID-19 test straight away, even if you're fully vaccinated. This will protect you and your community. Please self-isolate in your accommodation until you receive a negative result. The common symptoms of COVID-19 are:

  • fever
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • feeling short of breath
  • runny nose
  • loss of taste or smell

There are many testing clinics across NSW. Find a COVID-19 testing clinic in the area you are living in.

COVID-19 vaccines

COVID-19 vaccines stop you from getting really sick from COVID-19. In NSW, you can get a free third (3) COVID-19 vaccine, this is also called a 'booster' vaccine.

If you are aged 18 and over and it has been 6 months since you got your second (2) dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, you can get a booster vaccine. In NSW you will get the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for your booster dose. It is safe to get this vaccine, even if you have had another type of vaccine for your primary doses in another country. Find out more information on COVID-19 'booster' vaccines.

Book an appointment to get your booster vaccine at a clinic in the area you are living in.
