Can work meetings and events now take place?

The easing of restrictions is providing us with much-needed relief to reconnect and see family and friends. While numbers of people permitted to gather in social settings are increasing, what does this mean for work meetings and events?
To minimise the potential of staff absences due to COVID, it is best to avoid holding meetings and events of large numbers, especially if there is a possibility groups of staff are required to self-isolate at short notice.
Consider holding COVID-safe meetings and events through Skype, Microsoft teams or via a teleconference.
If you host or attend a face-to-face meeting, remember to apply the rule of physical distancing; keeping 1.5 metres between people.
For non-essential meetings or conferences of critical workforce, such as healthcare professionals and emergency services, these functions should be limited.
Corporate events cannot exceed 300 people or one person per 4 square metres; whichever is the lesser.
A corporate event is an event, hospitality or social activity organised, held or funded by a business or other organisation, for staff, clients or stakeholders, and held at a function centre.
Future bookings exceeding the maximum number can be taken, providing the organiser complies with the rules in force at the time of the event.
