Sharing small spaces such as tea rooms, kitchens, desks and education rooms can be a challenge, as we try to maintain our distance to keep each other safe. With so much space dedicated to our patients, there isn't much space for us!

Remember it's ok to say, 'let's stay COVID-safe'!

Here are some tips to help:

  • Before entering lunch or tea rooms check to see how many people are already in there, and if too many, consider having lunch outside when possible and appropriate.
  • Be extra vigilant with hand hygiene and cleaning of surfaces, particularly in a shared desk environments, as well as kitchens and lunch rooms.
  • Remember the 1.5 metre rule, if in an education room always physically distance and ask about a virtual option.
  • Use the phrases, 'we'd like to protect you' or 'we really need to keep everyone safe' or 'could you please give me the space to work?'
  • Always remember, if you cannot maintain physical distance, wear a mask.
