The series was launched on 14 February with a theme of Value based healthcare and Future Health by Deb Willcox, Deputy Secretary, Health System Strategy and Planning, and George Leipnik, Director Strategy and System Priorities at the Ministry of Health.

Vanessa Clements and Thea Thomas from the Planning, Redevelopment and Strategic Office at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District gave their district perspective on the role of VBHC and Future Health in strategic planning.

The presentations were followed by an interesting Q&A session with questions from the audience.

A shared vision and individual perspectives

More than 300 people joined to hear about how VBHC is helping us to achieve our shared vision.  NSW Health staff can view a recording of the session and Q&A.

As Deb Willcox remarked about value in NSW:

“Not being wasteful, that we're doing evidence based practice. That’s the stuff that you guys are doing intuitively that’s fundamental to value. But value also has to be something that is meaningful for us, particularly for you guys delivering care. It’s what a patient experiences and the physical and holistic outcomes that they have from the care that you have provided.”
