This course is designed to support prescribers and other health professionals in providing depot buprenorphine treatment in a safe and effective manner in line with the NSW Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).

The course is free, open to all health practitioners, and available through the Opioid Treatment Accreditation Course eLearning portal

Treatment of opioid dependency with depot buprenorphine products - Buvidal® and Sublocade®

Part 1 and Part 2 of the webinar are available on NSW Health's Youtube channel.

This webinar aims to explain the clinical guidance, evidence base, pharmacology, and risks associated with depot buprenorphine, and how to implement it as an Opioid Agonist Treatment for opioid dependency. We will discuss skills to help you identify suitable patients for depot buprenorphine and have conversations about the risks and benefits, and how to comply with the regulatory requirements of prescribing and storing of depot buprenorphine. The webinar was presented by Assoc Professor Nicholas Lintzeris, Director of Drug and Alcohol at South Eastern Sydney Local Health District on 16 June 2020.
