Summary

This client questionnaire is a tool to conduct a structured assessment of a client’s understanding of:

• high risk situations for opioid overdose;
• how to recognise an opioid overdose; and
• what to do in response to a suspected opioid overdose.

A key principle of brief interventions is to assess a person’s existing knowledge and attitudes, which allows more efficient tailoring of the educational information.

The client questionnaire focusses on essential knowledge and can be completed in two or three minutes.
