NSW Health offers free tools and programs to encourage and support a healthy lifestyle:

  • Aboriginal Knockout Health Challenge is a community led healthy lifestyle and weight loss challenge for Aboriginal communities. It aims to motivate Aboriginal people to manage their lifestyle-related risk factors for chronic disease and reduce prevalence of overweight and obesity.
  • The ​Get Healthy Service is a free phone and online NSW Health coaching service supporting people over 16 years of age living in NSW to make lifestyle changes. 
  • Active and Healthy is an online directory of exercise programs to help adults over 60 find community exercise programs in their area to encourage fall prevention programs and general physical activity programs.
  • BMI calculator can help you understand if you are a healthy weight. Maintaining a healthy weight has many short and long-term benefits and can help you stay healthier as you grow older. Body Mass Index (BMI) measures your weight in relation to your height and provides a score to help place you in a category.
  • Quiz: how healthy are my habits? Take the quiz to find out how healthy your current habits are and where you could improve.
  • Weekly menu planner Use this tool to help you choose healthy meals and snacks you can prepare for the week.

For children

NSW Health offers free tools and programs to support your family to lead a healthy lifestyle:

  • Munch & Move supports the healthy development of children birth to 5 years by promoting physical activity, healthy eating and reduced small screen time. The program offers training and resources to educators working in NSW early childhood education and care services.
  • Go4Fun is a free 10-week program led by trained health professionals, for NSW kids aged 7-13 and their families. It's a great way for kids to get fit through play and to help them feel more confident and boost their self-esteem.
  • Go4Fun Online is available specifically for families in NSW who are unable to attend the face-to-face version of the program. It provides information and support to develop healthy habits.
  • Finish with the Right Stuff is a program that helps junior sports clubs promote water as the drink of choice and have healthy food options for children and patrons.
