​​NSW Health clinicians can access My Health Learning for modules on assessing, advising and helping families with their child’s growth and development via the My Health platform only. The modules are not currently available on this website.

To access:

  1. Visit the My Health Learning portaland sign in.
  2. Search for the relevant modules, listed below.
  • Weight4KidsThis series of eleven modules are designed to develop an understanding in assessing and managing children who are outside of a healthy weight range.  
  • The Core module provides a background to the issue of child weight management and describes the process for routine identification of children or adolescents above a healthy weight, how to discuss the issue, and initial management or referral. The Measurement module focusses specially on how to measure a child’s growth. 
  • Motivational interviewing
    There are two motivational interviewing modules available.
    • The introduction module provides an overview of the fundamental skills, principles and strategies used in motivational interviewing.
    • The building skills module focusses on scenario-based examples of how to utilise motivational interviewing techniques to understand and assess a person’s motivation to change.
  • Understanding the Science and Reality of Obesity for Better Patient Care:  The module provides education on the science of obesity, shares personal experiences from patients living with obesity and provides guides and resources to better support patients. Through this, the module aims to increase understanding of weight-based stigma and how to reduce its harmful impacts.

Online learning options include:

  • Understanding the Science and Reality of Obesity for Better Patient Care-Primary Care focus 
    The module provides education on the science of obesity, shares personal experiences from patients living with obesity and provides guides and resources to better support patients. Through this, the module aims to increase understanding of weight-based stigma and how to reduce its harmful impacts. It is a longer version of the module with the same name listed above.
