myVirtualCare has provided valuable support to our COVID-19 response, safely connecting health providers with patients.

The web-based videoconferencing platform mimics clinical workflows, including a virtual waiting room to allow for simultaneous consultations.

It was scaled up to enhance telehealth provisions at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to enable patients to continue accessing health services as required. As a result, the uptake of videoconferencing within NSW Health increased by 641 per cent between February and April 2020.

In addition to the quality in-person care which NSW Health staff have continued to deliver throughout the pandemic, myVirtualCare enables wider access to healthcare for patients.

Following a successful launch, the program is now available state-wide and the Agency for Clinical Innovation – in partnership with local health districts and specialty health networks – is running a series of training sessions for all NSW Health staff.

Whether you take the user (basic) or coordinator (advanced) training, the one-hour sessions will cover everything you need to know about myVirtualCare.

Multiple sessions are available daily and up to 20 people can attend each session.

Visit My Health Learning and search for 'myVirtualCare' to enrol in an online training session.
