October is Mental Health Month which is a timely reminder to take the time to think about what support you need.

While we may be more physically distant from those around us during the COVID-19 pandemic, a simple phone call is all it takes to seek help or offer support to someone who needs it.

There are also a range of mental health and wellbeing initiatives available, as well as lots of local support through the Employee Assistance Program.

It is important you look after yourself and reach out to get support through the following services:

  • COVID connexion is a dedicated wellbeing advice service for NSW Health workers. You can contact COVID Connexion for trusted and confidential advice on 1300 509 989. Please note the COVID Connexion service ceased operation on 25 June 2021.
  • The Agency of Clinical Innovation's (ACI) Pandemic Kindness website has resources which were created by clinicians across Australia, working together to support all healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Health Education and Training (HETI's) resources on Leading in uncertain times provides useful tips designed to support you. Our current climate with COVID-19 calls for leadership at every level.

Remember, if you or someone you know needs crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14. To find mental health services in your local area call the NSW Mental Health Line on 1800 011 511.
