Government Relations Branch (GRB) supports the Ministry of Health in its engagement with other Australian Governments, working closely with NSW central agencies. GRB protects and promotes sustainable funding for health services, identifies and creates opportunities to transform the NSW health system, and supports the Minister and Secretary to negotiate positive outcomes for NSW.
Government Relations is made up of two units, one internal to NSW Health and one unit supported by NSW Health but reporting to the Chair of the Health Ministers Meeting (HMM) and the Chair of the Health Chief Executive Forum (HCEF).
Provide strategic advice and lead on national health policy and funding reforms, working collaboratively within the Ministry and across NSW Health, and with central agencies to develop policy positions and discern impacts to NSW.
The National Health Secretariat is hosted by Government Relations Branch and is jointly funded by all Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments. The team provides strategic policy advice and secretariat support to the Health Ministers Meeting (HMM) and the Health Chief Executive Forum (HCEF) Chairs and members.
