Why will Sublocade no longer be available in Australia after 31 December 2026?

  • Work with your prescriber to consider other suitable options and plan your ongoing care.
  • Your health care team know that Sublocade will no longer be available, and they will be able to support you and your treatment.

Is it safe to continue using Sublocade?

Yes, Sublocade is safe to use while you and your healthcare team arrange for alternative options.

Do I need a new prescription for new medication?

You will need a new prescription if you change to a new medication. You will need to see your prescribers just like you regularly do.

What if a new medication doesn’t work for me?

If the alternative medication is not working well for you, talk to your prescriber about other treatment options.

Are any other OTP medicines affected?

All other OTP medicines, including buprenorphine formulations and methadone, are still available and are safe to use.
