​​​The way we work shapes the experiences and outcomes of every person who interacts with our health system and has a direct impact on staff performance and wellbeing. This award recognises projects and initiatives that strengthen and support our diverse workforce to deliver safe, reliable and person-centred care, driving the best experiences and outcomes for patients and staff.

Nominations will demonstrate projects that support our workforce by:

  • building positive work environments that bring out the best in everyone, including initiatives that promote wellbeing, connection and a strong sense of purpose
  • strengthening collaboration within and across the NSW Health system to improve service delivery, including financial, IT, productivity, and workforce projects, initiatives or programs
  • valuing diversity in our people and building a strong sense of inclusion and belonging
  • growing and supporting a skilled workforce by hiring and developing the right people, with the right skills, at the right time
  • developing effective health professional managers and leaders
  • improving systems to support better workplace safety and health outcomes and practices
  • supporting long-term behaviour change to strengthen the culture around staff health and safety
  • increasing awareness of the importance of personal safety alongside patient safety
  • enhancing access to training, resources or development pathways that support workforce capability, impact and innovation
  • recognising, celebrating with, and supporting our people and the moments that matter to them in work and life.​
