Immediate response to mental distress

​​​​​This course focuses on responding to and working with people form AOD and related services, experiencing mental distress, using a trauma-informed and recover-oriented approach to address common mental health concerns and substance use issues. It will also explore practical strategies for assisting clients in distress, ensuring the safety of other clients and staff, with case studies covering a range of settings and conditions, including suicide, self-harm, PTSD, and drug-induced psychosis.

Eligibility

This training is fully funded by NSW Health for the alcohol and other drugs workforce in NSW and include people working in non-government services, NSW Health and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. There may be some availability for people working in related sectors.
