NSW Health has partnered with the University of Sydney, Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use to deliver a series of Train-The-Trainer workshops for trainers with moderate to extensive clinical experience in co-occurring AOD and mental health conditions.
This training will build your knowledge and skills to effectively deliver evidence-based training to AOD-workers to improve their capability to respond to co-occurring mental health conditions in alcohol and other drug treatment settings.
This training program was developed to align the Australian Guidelines on managing co-occurring alcohol and other drug and mental health conditions in alcohol and other drug treatment settings.
Eligibility
This training is fully funded by NSW Health for the alcohol and other drugs workforce in NSW and include people working in non-government services, NSW Health and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. There may be some availability for people working in related sectors. To be eligible for this training, you must:
- have completed tertiary training in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience
- have comprehensive knowledge of and/or experience working with people experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance-use disorders
- have experience delivering interventions for people with co-occurring mental health and substance-use conditions
- possess sound training skills and have capacity to deliver workplace training.
