NSW Health Data and Analytics Strategy

Discover how we're unlocking the power of data to transform care and create a healthier, more equitable future for NSW.

NSW Health is privileged to hold large volumes of data about individuals, health services and populations, often about some of the most vulnerable moments in people's lives. Our ability to consistently deliver safe, high quality care to patients and improve population health relies on all of us across NSW Health harnessing the power of the data that we hold.

The NSW Health Data and Analytics Strategy defines a unified vision for data and analytics - for all of us across the NSW Health system. It is a call to action for a more coordinated, collaborative approach to data and analytics across NSW Health. One that is led by the needs of the health system, informed by the expectations of patients, carers and communities, and enabled by technology. It also signals NSW Health's commitment to work in partnership with others across the broader health system to ensure that data are used, managed and shared for the benefit of patients, carers and the communities we serve.

Our vision

The right information to the right people at the right time to generate knowledge, support informed decision‑making, improve patient care and drive better health outcomes in NSW.

We can't do it alone

This is a strategy that has been shaped by and shared with people from all across our health system, including over 1,300 NSW Health staff, 150 external organisations and partners, and over 800 patients, carers and community members.
