An additional two cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed as at 9 am today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in NSW to 38.

The new cases are:

  • a female health care worker at Ryde Hospital in her 30s who is a contact of a previously confirmed case from an aged care facility
  • a female in her 50s who is a contact of a previously confirmed case.

Dr Kerry Chant, Chief Health Officer passed on the sympathies of NSW Health to the family of the patient, a man in his 80s, who died in hospital and had tested positive to COVID-19.

NSW Health is continuing to find and respond to cases as they are diagnosed to slow any spread of COVID-19 in the community.
