As at 8pm, Friday, 3 April 2020, an additional 104 cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed, since 8pm 2 April, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in NSW to 2,493.

There are 251 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health, including 41 cases in our Intensive Care Units and, of those, 23 require ventilators at this stage. More than 50 per cent of the remainder of cases being treated by NSW Health are through Hospital in the Home services. There have been 12 deaths.

A nurse who worked in two residential aged care facilities (Alexander Aged Care Brookvale and Scalabrini Allambie Heights) in northern Sydney has tested positive. Contact tracing is underway and residents are being isolated within the facilities.

There is a second positive case at TAFE Ultimo that is unrelated to the first case. Contact tracing is underway. Parts of the TAFE remain open.

A student at Bankstown Senior College has tested positive for COVID-19. Investigations are ongoing to trace close contacts.

At the Rose of Sharon childcare centre in Blacktown there are now 7 confirmed cases in staff, 6 confirmed cases in children, and 12 secondary cases (11 household contacts and 1 friend). The centre is closed.

St Mary’s Senior High School has one confirmed case, a student. The school is closed and investigations are ongoing.

Gloucester Primary School has one confirmed case in a staff member.  The school remains open as it has been over two weeks since the case’s last attendance. The school has been contacting staff and students regularly about their health with no evidence of people being unwell.

Woodport Early Learning Centre has one confirmed case in a child. Investigations are ongoing.

St Michaels Catholic Primary School Belfield has one confirmed case, a student. The school is closed and investigations are ongoing.

Wiley Park Girls High School has one confirmed case, a teacher. The school reopened today following investigations.

Kambala has one confirmed case, a teacher. The school is closed and Investigations are ongoing.

110 people currently in quarantine in Sydney hotels are being tested for COVID-19 after reporting symptoms. Testing will be undertaken by NSW Health Pathology, with results expected around lunchtime on Saturday. Depending on their condition, confirmed cases will either be moved to RPA virtual hospital, or RPA.

NSW Health is alerting passengers who were close contacts on flights to monitor for symptoms, and contact their GP, but call ahead first, or call healthdirect on 1800 022 222, or visit a NSW Health COVID-19/Flu assessment clinic should they become unwell.
