NSW recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last nightFour new cases were acquired overseas, bringing the total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 5,135.

There were 8,686 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day's total of 14,078.

Following new advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) on Thursday night, updated informed consent information was provided to patients and those administering the AstraZeneca vaccine.

NSW Health temporarily paused administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine to all age groups at its clinics yesterday morning (Friday 9 April) while the informed consent information was updated. AstraZeneca vaccinations for those aged 50 years and over recommenced yesterday afternoon. The Pfizer vaccine continued to be administered as planned at NSW Health clinics.

There were 4,401 COVID-19 vaccines administered by NSW Health in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. The total number of vaccines administered by NSW Health is now 151,125.

NSW Health is treating 41 COVID-19 cases, none of whom are in ICU. Most cases (98 per cent) are being treated in non-acute, out-of-hospital care, including returned travellers in the Special Health Accommodation.
