As at 8pm Wednesday 13 May 2020, there have been four additional cases of COVID-19 diagnosed since 8pm 12 May, bringing the total number of cases to 3,063.

There were 9,747 people tested in the reporting period, compared with 8,117 people in the previous 24 hours.

Nearly 334,000 people have now been tested for COVID-19 in NSW, which has one of the highest testing rates in the world.

NSW Health would like to thank those with symptoms for coming forward, getting tested and ensuring cases in the community are identified as quickly as possible.

There have been no new cases associated with Anglicare Newmarch House, meaning the total of cases linked to Newmarch House remains at 71 (37 residents and 34 staff).

There are currently 110 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. This includes eight people being treated in intensive care units. Six of them require ventilators.

There are now 2,595 people who have recovered from COVID-19 in NSW.

One of the cases is a staff member from Werrington Public School. The school will be closed today. The source of the infection is under investigation and contact tracing is underway.

NSW Health is urging people with symptoms, including mild symptoms, to be tested to ensure as many cases of COVID-19 in the community are identified as quickly as possible.

This is particularly important in several areas following the identification of locally acquired cases. The Canada Bay, Canterbury Bankstown, and Cumberland local government areas have been identified for further testing. All areas of concern for community transmission in NSW are publicly available and listed at areas of concern for community transmission in NSW.
