The Whole of Health Program team hosted its tenth Master class on Wednesday, 28 June 2017.

The day kicked off by looking at some of the challenges and experiences in balancing performance and change. We heard what makes high performing governance, organisations, individuals and teams. We also heard from senior executives and local health district teams and individuals who had focused on performance from the bottom to the top.

We were delighted to have Sonia Sharp from the Nous group who talked about her experiences in complex system change and organisational performance in the United Kingdom. Sonia provided some insights into performance improvement strategies which were successfully implemented in two National Health Service trusts.

We provided an update on the WOHP evaluation, direction and strategies for the next two years and learnt about ‘Leading Better Value Care’ led by the Agency for Clinical Innovation.

Local best practices and change projects were celebrated and we shone a light on sites who have implemented successful projects to support patient flow and improve access to care. We also talked about challenges when projects don't quite go to plan.

There was something for everyone!

As with all master classes, this was a fantastic opportunity to meet statewide health colleagues, share knowledge and discuss innovative ideas as we work together to improve health and inspire change across the patient journey.
