​In NSW Better Cardiac Care is led by an Implementation Committee and Aboriginal Advisory Group. These groups include representatives from key stakeholders including the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council of NSW, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, the Heart Foundation, the Agency for Clinical Innovation, NSW Ambulance, Local Health Districts and the Ministry.

Better Cardiac Care Implementation Committee

The Better Cardiac Care Implementation Committee was established to oversee further development and implementation of the five priority areas.

The Implementation Committee is responsible for:

  • Developing the plan for implementation
  • Ensuring proposed implementation activities are achievable and aligned with current policies, strategies and initiatives at state and local health service level
  • Reviewing existing and proposed data and activity measures and support the development of systems for routine data collection at state and local level, as appropriate
  • Ensuring the development of governance and accountability mechanisms as part of the implementation process
  • Providing updates on the progress of implementation to the NSW Chief Health Officer

The Implementation Committee includes representatives from:

  • Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council
  • The Heart Foundation
  • NSW Ambulance
  • Western NSW Local Health District
  • Agency for Clinical Innovation
  • Health Protection NSW
  • Centre for Population Health, NSW Ministry of Health
  • Centre for Aboriginal Health, NSW Ministry of Health
  • Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence, NSW Ministry of Health
  • Integrated Care Branch, NSW Ministry of Health
  • Office of the Chief Health Officer, NSW Ministry of Health

Better Cardiac Care Aboriginal Advisory Group

The main role of the Aboriginal Advisory Group is to provide high level advice to the NSW Better Cardiac Care Implementation Committee on the Better Cardiac Care Implementation Plan.
