The Office of the Chief Health Officer supports the Deputy Secretary, Population and Public Health and Chief Health Officer to effectively manage the strategic, business and financial planning functions of the Population and Public Health Division; and the Chief Health Officer's functions relating to clinical leadership.

The Office leads and coordinates a range of portfolios including policy regarding organ and tissue donation, blood and blood products, clinical ethics and voluntary assisted dying.
