System Information and Analytics enables the Ministry of Health to be an effective health service purchaser and system manager through high quality data, analysis and performance reporting. The branch ensures that NSW Health meets its state and national reporting obligations and maintains high standards of public accountability and transparency in the health system.

Staff use their data management and analytical expertise to support key decision-makers within NSW Health by providing high quality, timely information on the performance, service utilisation, activity forecasting and modelling of health services.

System Information and Analytics is responsible for supporting existing and creating new statewide data collections, developing data collection standards and policies, maintaining data quality and governance frameworks and managing the Ministry's data warehousing platforms - Health Information Exchange (HIE) and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDWARD).
