Winner: Volunteer of the Year Award

 

Diane McPhail is an outstanding asset to the staff and patients of Ryde Hospital and a true role model for volunteering. She is a dedicated, hardworking and supportive member of both the Ryde Hospital Volunteers and the Consumer Advisor teams.

She freely gives her time and energy to support the hospital across many important areas. These include:

  • As a consumer advisor informing models of care and environmental sustainability
  • A patient assistance volunteer supporting patients with adequate nutrition and social engagement
  • Involvement in staff education
  • As an actor for simulation clinical training and presenter on consumer engagement at medical orientation
  • A volunteer Hospital Wayfinder, and
  • A volunteer Bushcare gardener in the Blue Gum High Forest to support the Hospital’s Redevelopment program.

Diane also provides invaluable insight and input as the Chair of the Ryde Hospital Consumer Participation Committee, including support and mentorship of other consumer advisors.

Diane is a role model for what can be achieved with purpose, a kind heart and a commitment to the wellbeing of others.​
