Aboriginal people are the first peoples of Australia and have strong cultures and communities. The resilience of Aboriginal people provides the foundation upon which to further improve the health of Aboriginal people. Although many Aboriginal people in NSW experience good health, non-Aboriginal people still have better health outcomes across key health measures.

The NSW Government’s plan to improve the health of Aboriginal people is set out in the NSW Aboriginal Health Plan 2013-2023 and the Mid-Term Evaluation of the NSW Aboriginal Health Plan 2013-2023.

NSW Health publishes a range of data, interactive statistics and reports about Aboriginal health.
