In August, NSW Health issued advice about:

In August, the Communicable Diseases Branch reported:

increased reports of exposures to animals potentially infected with rabies and Australian bat lyssavirus
Hajj travel advice
New cases of measles, Listeriosis, Meningococcal disease and Haemophilus influenza type b infection
Increasing case reports of pneumococcal disease
Malaria in a returned traveller from Sierra Leone
Continuing very high levels of influenza activity
Q fever in farmers
Dengue linked to Bali travel
Ebola virus disease in West Africa
