It provides timely and seamless, access to care, using evidence based intervention. It targets modifiable health and lifestyle factors contributing to joint pain and functional decline.

Emphasis is for patient empowerment through better understanding of osteoarthritis and joint pain, with support for immediate and ongoing self-management. Two years on, specialist and GPs provide consistent flow of referrals. Early, conservative osteoarthritis joint pain management services improves joint pain and function in 2 out of 3 patients.
