Community based services
ACON Suicide Prevention Initiative
The ACON Suicide Prevention Initiative targets LGBTI communities in the Sydney, South Eastern Sydney and St Vincent local health district areas. There will be direct support for people who have attempted suicide and a program to build the capacity of GPs to respond to LGBTI people at risk of suicide.
Bright Minds, Connected Communities
Community Activities Lake Macquarie runs the Bright Minds, Connected Communities initiative, which provides support to young people at risk of suicide in the Lake Macquarie region of NSW. The program delivers mental health and wellbeing programs in school and provide training to high school teachers to improve their mental health literacy.

Compass Housing Services Suicide Prevention Initiative
The Compass Housing Services Suicide Prevention Initiative delivers services to social housing tenants and staff across the Central Coast, Hunter, Dubbo and Broken Hill regions of NSW. Activities include mental health first aid training and an awareness campaign to better identify and respond to mental health issues.

HealthWISE Suicide Prevention Initiative provides clinical mental health aftercare support for those at risk or affected by suicide in the New England North West region of NSW.

Hunter Primary Care Way Back Support Service
The Hunter Primary Care Way Back Support Service provides case management for up to 3 months for people who have had a recent suicide attempt and presented to Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital. The Way Back Support Service is an established program, which has been trialled from May 2016 with funding from beyondblue up to January 2018.

Next Steps Suicide Attempt Response Team
Next Steps Suicide Attempt Response Team delivers 7 days per week aftercare services in the Illawarra Shoalhaven region, for people who have attempted suicide or are at high risk of suicide and have presented to Wollongong, Shellharbour or Shoalhaven hospitals. Support will also be provided to families and carers.
Three Rivers Suicide Prevention Project
The Coomealla Health Aboriginal Corporation provides suicide prevention programs with a particular focus on Aboriginal people. Strategies will target young people and elders in Balranald and Wentworth Shires of NSW, as well as providing training and support to local GPs.
